Poughkeepsie Day School is excited to welcome a new 9th Grade class from a committed group of students across the Hudson Valley, who will emerge from our program as cognitive navigators. The Navigator Scholarship is a 30% tuition reduction for incoming 9th graders, which will stay in place for the entirety of their high school career at PDS. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Parents complete an inquiry on our website.

Step 2: After the family’s scheduled visit or tour, students complete an online application to Poughkeepsie Day School. In order to be considered for the Navigator Scholarship, students must respond to one of the following two prompts within the “Student Essay” section of their application:

• Please write a statement between 200 and 250 words explaining what you are looking for in your high school experience.
• Please write a statement between 200 and 250 words explaining what our school’s Mission Statement means to you. What about it is important to you? How do you see yourself helping our school turn this mission into a reality?

Step 3: Complete steps 3-5 of the admissions process as normal.
