Just as summer vacation is about to begin, our secure custom Web domain and consolidated database, mypds.org, is now online and being used by both the admissions and development offices. This represents four months of data export from our current, disparate database systems. We’ve been mining and cleaning up the data and consolidating it into a trusted and verified single system. Here is a screenshot of the parent dashboard being developed:
Each member of the PDS community will have a secure sign-on to mypds.org that will enable you to see a personalized view of the data called a dashboard. This dashboard is unique to you and your family and can change if you have multiple roles. For example, if you are a current parent and a board of trustees member, you can easily switch between seeing your parent data (e.g., student’s homework, progress reports, news from the PDSPA or from the board, recent Facebook and blog posts and required health forms) or your trustee data (e.g., reports for the upcoming meeting, enrollment updates, and articles of interest).
No more searching for the information you need on multiple Web sites or in email folders — the data you need will be at your fingertips in an easy to use format.
And as a result, you will no longer need to search for information on the PDS Website. We can now use the site as a marketing tool to tell the story of PDS to prospective parents. While we are developing mypds.org, we are simultaneously revising poughkeepsieday.orgto do just that. The site will have a fresh, new look and simple navigation for prospective parents to find the information they need in one click.
The new PDS Website and dashboards will launch in late August.
