The GROW Campaign, part of the PDS GROW Strategic Plan, is an up-front investment in the next chapter of Poughkeepsie Day School. Gifts to the campaign, no matter how small, will greatly assist PDS in reclaiming and maintaining its position as the leading progressive school in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
The PDS GROW Strategic Plan
The PDS GROW Strategic Plan preserves all the wonderful hallmarks of a Poughkeepsie Day School education while introducing new approaches to progressive pedagogy that address the ever-evolving needs of today’s children and families. Whether it’s implementing the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to develop a curriculum that is globally accessible or nurturing an anti-racist and culturally aware community through Intergroup Dialogue, GROW is a vision for a distinctive modern educational environment that simultaneously empowers and challenges its students. Participation Counts
All members of the PDS community – trustees, parents, alumni, faculty and staff, grandparents, parents of alumni, businesses and other friends – are invited to support innovative learning through a gift to the GROW Campaign. High rates of participation by trustees, parents and alumni are especially important to securing grants from private foundations and corporations. That’s why even small gifts make a big difference. When it comes to participation, every gift, large or small, is equal in impact.
Bridging the Gap and Maintaining a Truly Distinguished Experience
Poughkeepsie Day School uses a budget model typical for most independent schools. To achieve strategic program objectives, maintain a tuition level competitive with other schools, and to move towards creating a learning community which includes families from all backgrounds, this model must set tuition at a level lower than the full cost of operating the school. The GROW Campaign helps cover this difference while supporting the learning opportunities that distinguish a PDS education.
