First Days in Science

The high school students had a great start in science! They cleverly identified all the skills I was hoping they would need in our first activity of making an origami cup. They needed to follow directions, read carefully, be observant, work together, have a basic knowledge of geometry, etc. Below are picture of their cups holding water (at least for a minute or two). Some of them enjoyed the activity enough to make mini cups!

We discussed what they already knew about climate science and what we will explore in the course. You can see from their assignment in myPDS that we have started to watch an overview video that touches on different aspects that we will learn in greater depth. They did a great job learning about the atomic basics of carbon dioxide!
