Together with the world, we are horrified by the earthquake catastrophe in Haiti. Student response has been immediate and there are a number of student fund-raisers underway to support relief efforts.

Older students and adults have been texting donations via their cell phones and encourage others to text:

“HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti.

And over the past few days, students have raised over $1,100 through bake sales for the American Red Cross in support of Haiti relief efforts. Thank you to all.

Meanwhile, we are also thinking longer term. While we must send what we can now, Haiti will need our support in the months and years ahead. We plan to work with Haitian –Americans in our community and listen to experienced aid organizations to find an effective way to help the people of Haiti build a future.
